Additional Information:
The Banankélé permit lies within a geologically favorable environment. It is part of a broader strategy by DIAK GOLD SARL to develop a portfolio of exploration assets across Mali. The project’s proximity to established gold corridors and its foundation in historic and modern geological data position it as a high-potential initiative pending formal commencement.
In the Sikasso Region of southern Mali, where Birimian formations rise beneath low ridges and forested plains, the Banankélé Gold Exploration Project is set to begin a new phase of mineral discovery. Led by DIAK GOLD SARL, the project reflects a strategic effort to responsibly unlock the untapped potential of one of West Africa’s most prospective geological environments.
Covering an area of 68 square kilometers, the Banankélé concession is situated in the Bougouni Circle on the Kalana topographic sheet. This region is well known for its structurally complex and mineral-rich Birimian belts, which continue to yield gold discoveries across Mali and neighboring countries. The project's setting includes metavolcanic and metasedimentary units intruded by granitic bodies, a geological context consistent with other productive gold zones in the region.
Initial work will focus on detailed geological mapping and geochemical soil sampling to define high-priority exploration targets. These studies are designed to establish a strong technical foundation and guide the development of a phased exploration strategy.
The vision for Banankélé extends beyond exploration. DIAK GOLD SARL is committed to conducting its activities with transparency and in alignment with national environmental and social standards. The project will engage with local communities early in the process to ensure that the work conducted supports inclusive development, protects local ecosystems, and builds long-term trust.
As exploration activities progress, Banankélé will serve as a showcase of how modern, responsible exploration can contribute to economic growth while preserving environmental and cultural values. It is an opportunity to build not just a mine, but a model for sustainable mineral development in Mali.
